Reporting to the Head of Department, the holder will manage the Geographic Information Systems database thereby keeping the roads inventory and condition information up to date.
The main duties of the role include;
Design the KRB GIS database structures to ensure accuracy and easy access of data
Coordinate GIS data entry and processing ready for use
Ensure GIS database integrity and security
Create information products based on the GIS database as may be required for efficient exercise of KRB functions and operations.
Design interfaces for data exchange to other road planning and management systems (RMMS, HDM-4 etc)
Safeguard the GIS data, systems and applications to ensure integrity and security.
Assist the annual update of the roads inventory and condition data.
Design appropriate use interfaces to enhance quality and efficient use of GIS data.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Geomatic Engineering or Geo-spatial Information Systems , Computer Science or a related field from a recognized University;
Minimum of six years’ experience in the design, development, implementation, administration of geographical information systems including analysis;
Database development and integration;
Experience in GIS in public sector will be an added advantage
Ability to use Data collection and manipulation equipment/application
