Heavy Equipment Technician Job Responsibilities

• Be responsible for emergency/unscheduled repairs of heavy equipments
• Executing scheduled preventive maintenance on equipments
• In charge of mechanical duties, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make changes/ report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work place.

Requirements for the Heavy Equipment Technician Job

• Diploma in Automotive Engineering or equivalent
• At least 3 years as an Equipment Technician with vast experience in handling Forklift/ Reach Truck
• Attention to Detail: Some parts need to be in the exact right place
• Mechanical Skills: familiarity with parts and components of complex machinery and engines
• Technical Skills: Be able to read blueprints, or use electronic diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot repairs.
• Troubleshooting Skills: Able to look at mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, identify problems, and think about possible solutions.
