    Field Coordinators

    Reporting to the Project Manager, the field coordinator will be involved in the planning and execution of the project, providing on-site mentoring, implementation and monitoring of the Finding the Children Project at intervention facilities. The field coordinator will also serve as the project monitor.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Support the development, implementation and routine monitoring of the project workplan.
    2. Provide technical and administrative day to day support and oversight for project sites.
    3. Conduct and coordinate health care worker on-job trainings, through conventional methods, and through online technologies such as YouTube and ECHO
    4. Identify and provide support for implementation challenges in the course of project implementation.
    5. Support the mentorship for HCWs within the maternal and child health clinics to institutionalize TB screening among all children visiting these clinics.
    6. Provide and sensitize MNCH health care workers on the childhood TB diagnostic algorithms.
    7. Support the strengthening of contact tracing for all adults who are bacteriologically confirmed to identify the targeted children for intervention.
    8. Develop a framework to support facilitation for transport, radiology services and Nasopharyngeal aspiration for eligible children.
    9. Scale up the use of Isoniazid Preventive Therapy for identified children under 5 with contacts to bacteriologically confirmed TB.
    10. Provide feedback to the project team on field implementation.
    11. Identify best practices identified in the course of project implementation, and support documentation for dissemination.
    12. Support development, distribution and proper filling and updating of required monitoring and evaluation

    Person Specification

    • A degree or diploma in nursing, clinical medicine, public health, or equivalent health related field
    • Demonstration of experience in health systems strengthening will be an added advantage
    • Minimum of three years working experience in development programs with significant TA experience in public health or TB program experience preferred
    • Working experience in donor-funded public health program is an added advantage
    • Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain relationships with project staff, donors, sub-contractors and other partners
    • Ability to identify problems, design interventions and oversee their implementation
    • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
