Network Development Manager at World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Kenya

In support of this strategy WWF undertook a redesign of its international secretariat that will further unite WWF offices and its near 6,400 staff around the world. This will help WWF to build stronger partnerships across the world with government, business, civil society and individuals. Together, we will deliver on WWF’s ambitious goals.

We are recruiting the role of Network Development Manager for our International Secretariat to help us achieve our new ambitious goals, and build a future where people live in harmony with nature.

Location:

WWF International office in Nairobi (Flexible)

The Role:

• Support institutional change management and implement of the Network Development Strategy and associated Organisational Development efforts, in order to increase conservation delivery and impact
• Catalyse the Network’s engagement in the Network Development Strategy, engaging the Network in bringing the WWF Network development vision to life for each office, with a view to increase conservation impact and operational efficiency, ensuring global impact and regional relevance
• Facilitate the development of organisational change scenarios and models to ensure effective mechanisms are in place for knowledge sharing across the Network.
• Support the establishment of new WWF organisations and entry into new geographies, as well as phase out of WWF organisations
• Support coordination and catalyse synergies of network organizational development (OD) efforts, to strengthen performance of WWF offices, to increase conservation impact – collaborating closely with relevant Communities of Practice;

Main responsibilities:

• Working with the Executive Director, develop a 2 to 3 year change management plan for selected WWF Organisations in the context of the Network Development and Organisational Development Strategies;
• Contribute to and guide the transition roadmap of selected WWF organisations;
• Identify opportunities and advise the Executive Director, Network Development on recommendations to strengthen WWF’s presence and impact, and take the lead on trans-boundary growth initiatives;
• Working with the Director, Network Governance monitor and track the status of the institutional change processes at different levels;
• Lead, advise and facilitate an internal (and external) communications plan to accompany the institutional change management plan at all levels to keep key stakeholders within the WWF International Secretariat and the Network well informed;
• Lead and develop a mechanism for tracking and monitoring progress of change at all levels and provide regular update on the change management process to Executive Director, Network Development;
• Establish platforms for regular and periodic consultations and exchanges on change propositions and directions with key stakeholders;
• Support champions, catalyse team building exercises, coaching and training initiatives to support change propositions;
• Work closely with the Operations team (in the various Network hubs) specifically and all other functions within WWF International and other stakeholders, to ensure that offices supported by Network Development are evolving according to plan;

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

• Advanced University degree in Business Management, Finance, Business Administration or related fields, or equivalent work experience;
• At least 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role in international organizations/companies, with demonstrated success in leading organisational change and managing multi-disciplinary teams;
• Excellent verbal and written command of English language, any other language/s an asset (e.g., Spanish for work in LAC, French for work in francophone Africa, etc.);
• Proven change management skills;
• Proven coaching, monitoring, negotiating and inter-personal skills;
• Proven analytical and facilitation skills;
• Excellent capacity to manage human and financial resources;
• High level negotiation and influencing skills and the capacity to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels
• In-depth experience of network organisations;
• Good understanding of the conservation and social development sectors;
• Extensive field operations management experience in diverse international settings;
• Knowledge and exposure to WWF will be a strong asset;
