Senior Accountant at Stratostaff East Africa

Role Summary: The Senior Accountant’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger accountability, and financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements

• CPA (K) Graduate
• A bachelor’s degree in any business related course is an added advantage.
• Have at least 3 years work experienced preferably in a manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in Sage pastel and p.c skills
• Have good analytical skills.
• Should be within the age bracket of 30yrs- 37yrs

Job Specification

• Fixed asset processing and reporting
• Produces payroll by initiating computer processing; printing checks, verifying finished product. Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors
• Maintain bank accounts by requesting disbursements
• Monitor reserve accounts and short-term fund investments
• Review bank statements
• Research and reconcile all discrepancies
• Auditing and verifying documents
• Following internal controls
• Secures financial information by completing database backups
• Financial and profitability analysis on a requested basis
• Delegate financial responsibilities to accounting team
• Coordinate semi-annual audits
• Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements
