Responsibilities

• Providing security, law and order;
• Promoting peace building and conflict resolution;
• Liaising with relevant departments to control drug abuse and pornography;
• Establishing county policing authority;
• Monitoring and ensuring compliance by any operator/company or individuals sanctioned; directed to do or to refrain from doing an act by the county;
• Supervising on-site inspection of offices, premises and assets;
• Developing an enforcing framework and compliance on revenue collection and protect county government, its resources and personnel;
• Training of enforcement and security officers;
• Conducting staff performance appraisal;
• Preparing monthly and quarterly progress reports;
• Performing any other duty as assigned by your immediate supervisor.

Requirements

• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Be a holder of at least a first degree from a recognized university in Kenya in the relevant field;
• A Master’s degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage;
• Have relevant knowledge and experience of not less than seven (7) years in a senior position in the Public service or the Private sector;
• Demonstrate a high degree of professional and technical competence as reflected in work performance and results;
• Thorough understanding of the objects of devolution;
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of devolution, the County development objectives and Vision 2030;
• Be conversant with Policy formulation and implementation;
• Be a strategic thinker and result oriented;
• Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on leadership and integrity;
• Be computer literate.
