The Principal Planning Officer reports to the Planning Manager and is responsible for developing and implementation performance contracts, research plans, initiatives, monitoring and evaluation.

Duties

• Developing and implementing research and development plans, procedures and techniques
• Assisting management and internal clients to understand the results and implications of research and development initiatives
• Interpreting the results of research reports and recommend new products or services based on research analysis
• Providing advice on research and development options available to the organization
• Monitoring any developments in the research area and work out how these may affect the organization
• Publishing results of significant research projects in various Marketing journals and periodicals
• Developing and implement knowledge management and knowledge sharing framework in the corporation
• Designing and implement performance monitoring system to ensure organization’s objectives and ensure targets are met
• Preparing departmental quarterly and annual performance reports x. Coordinating Annual Corporate performance contract evaluation exercise
• Coordinating the development and implementation of departmental annual business plans
• Cascading the Corporate performance Contract to the Directorate and departmental levels
• Monitoring and evaluate implementation of the KICC Directorates’ and departmental performance contracts

Job Requirements

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

• A minimum period six of (6) years relevant work experience three (3) of which should have been at the level of senior officer
• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Strategy, Marketing, Business Administration or any other related field from a recognized institution
• Master’s Degree in Economics, Strategy, Marketing, Business Administration and any other related field from a recognized institution iv. Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation course
• Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Fulfilling the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
