Fisheries Officer at County Government of Lamu

Requirements

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

• Serve in the grade of Fisheries Officer for a minimum period of three (3) years
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields:- Fisheries, Zoology, Aquatic Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Biochemistry, Food Science and Technology, Environmental Science, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemistry or any other equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
• Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and result

Job Responsibilities

• Compiling fisheries statistics and preparing technical reports
• Participating in monitoring, control and surveillance of fisheries resources
• Providing fisheries extension services including mobilizing and training fishers
• Maintaining ponds at fish farms and hatcheries
• Conducting fish inspection and quality assurance
