The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water,sanitation and hygiene sectors. The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 5000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. In addition, NRC runs one of the world’s largest standby rosters -NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours notice when a crisis occurs
We are looking for a Regional Representative to lead forward CaLP’s work in East and Southern Africa. This is a job for someone who believes in what we do, who is a self-starter, who likes a challenge, who wants to influence humanitarian action, who likes making things happen, who has patience and determination. The Cash Learning Partnership (CaLP) is a global partnership of humanitarian actors engaged in policy, practice and research within Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA). CaLP currently has over 80 members including UN agencies, donors, local NGOs, international NGOs and private sector organisations. Going beyond the membership, we work with many other agencies and individuals. CaLP is based on learning, knowledge sharing, networking, policy and coordination around the appropriate and timely use of CVA in humanitarian response. CaLP does not deliver Cash and Voucher Assistance directly.
The purpose of this job is to work with humanitarian actors to promote and support the best use of CVA to meet the needs of people affected by crisis. The postholder:
