Program Associate at Village Capital

About the Role

Village Capital builds bridges for entrepreneurs who are creating an inclusive and sustainable world. Their Africa team is looking for a Program Associate to assist on some upcoming programs for the next six months. This individual will support the implementation of investment readiness programs. They will help manage the programs end-to-end, from initial market research and evaluation of seed-stage companies to events management, marketing, and cultivation of an ecosystem of mentors and investors to support our cohort of entrepreneurs across the continent.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Sourcing and Due Diligence: Support the team in sector research, company sourcing, application evaluation, due diligence interviews, and selection committee briefing
• Project Management: Manage the logistics of workshops and entrepreneur meetups including venue, catering, communication with attendees, event design, and entrepreneur management
• Network management: Build a network of investors, customers, and industry experts to support these growing companies, working closely with each team to identify needs, make connections, and catalyze venture funding and support

Desired Candidate Profile

• You are a multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment
• You have a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree (i.e. BA, BComm, BTech, etc.)
• You must be a Kenyan national
• You have at least 3 years of program management experience and/or a successful track record in program or project management, especially in event planning and logistics
• You’re comfortable—and excited—to take many moving parts and create a highly organized machine
• You have experience with strategy and strategic initiatives
• You have an interest in exploring a career in entrepreneurship, entrepreneur support or early-stage investing
• You have fundraising experience and have built a network of potential fundraising sources
• You have high integrity and professionalism
• You have experience in the startup and investment community is a big plus
• You are open to possible travel and have a valid passport
• You are solutions and customer service oriented
• Attention to detail is key
