Data Scientist / Machine Learning EngineerThe role will be based in the Artificial Intelligence practice within Mastercard Labs.

Mastercard Labs operates in a fast-paced, rapid-turnaround fashion, and projects tend to be relatively short pilots, proofs-of-concept or MVPs.
The successful candidate will be focused on delivering an AI / computer vision project
The successful candidate will be well-versed in a wide range of data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques, and will be able to make informed judgements as to the most appropriate approach to the problem at hand.

Technical skills required include:

• Knowledge of modern machine learning and computer vision approaches including
• Knowledge of deep neural networks, TensorFlow and TensorFlow mobile
• Knowledge of capture and preparation of video and image data for training
• Deployment and management of machine vision training infrastructure on GPU clusters
• Experience of moving machine learning models through the various stages of research, development, testing and into production
• Experience with general good software engineering practices (agile, test-driven, etc.)
• General software architecture (inc. back-end and front-end)

Soft skills required include:

• Technical team leadership – making informed technical choices
• Project management – leading the delivery of the technical elements of the project in a timely fashion
• Good communication and relationship skills – working with team members as well as other Stakeholders such as product managers, account teams, customers, etc.
• Ability to work and lead a remote team

Education

Post-graduate degree (MSc or PhD) in a relevant discipline preferred
