Job Purpose

Our client, a well-established real estate developer, is seeking an experienced Accountant to oversee the company's financial operations. This role involves managing financial reporting, reconciliations, tax compliance, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, audit experience, and proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a strategic mindset are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Prepare and review monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure accurate cost allocation to the correct cost centers.
• Generate monthly management accounts and financial statements.
• Develop and implement internal financial policies to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Bank & Cash Flow Management

• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
• Monitor cash flow trends to ensure financial stability and planning.

Accounts Reconciliation & Statutory Compliance

• Reconcile creditors and debtors accounts to maintain financial accuracy.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory payments (PAYE, VAT, NHIF, NSSF, etc.).

Internal Controls & Audit Support

• Review and improve accounting systems and procedures.
• Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
• Support external and internal audits, ensuring financial compliance.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or ACCA qualification.
• Above 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in real estate.
• Must have prior audit experience.
• Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
