About the Client:

• Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Account Intern to join our finance team in a dynamic construction company. This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to learn about accounting in the construction industry while supporting daily accounting functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in financial recordkeeping, reporting, and analyzing financial data.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements: Support the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports under the supervision of the finance manager.
• Data Entry: Record and maintain accurate records of financial transactions in accounting software.
• Invoice Management: Assist in processing invoices, verifying payment details, and ensuring timely payments to vendors and subcontractors.
• Expense Tracking: Help in tracking and categorizing company expenses related to construction projects.
• Bank Reconciliation: Assist with reconciling bank accounts and company statements.
• Inventory Management: Support the tracking and recording of construction materials and other assets in the financial system.
• Filing and Documentation: Ensure that accounting documents are organized and filed properly for easy access.
• Tax Compliance: Assist in compiling data for VAT, PAYE, and other taxes, supporting the team with preparation for tax filing.
• Assist with Budget Monitoring: Help in reviewing project budgets and financial forecasts.
• Other Ad-hoc Accounting Tasks: Provide general accounting support as needed, including audits, reports, and office administration.

Key Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
• Fresh graduates or candidates currently enrolled in university or college are encouraged to apply.
• No prior professional experience required, but any internship or part-time experience in accounting or finance is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
