Agriculture Officer II - 3 Posts at Vihiga County Government

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must meet the following requirements:-

• Holder of at least a Degree in Agriculture, Agriculture & Home Economics, Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Horticulture, Agroforestry and/or any other related field from a recognized institution;
• Previous work experience in the ic.sector is an added advantage;
• Be computer literate;
• Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on integrity.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Deployed as a Subject Matter Specialist at the Sub- County in charge of Crops Development, Agrinutrition, Land Development or Agribusiness Development, and reporting to the Sub-County Agricultural Officer;
• Promotion and implementation of activities related to Crop Development, Agrinutrition, Land Development and/or Agribusiness Development in the Sub -County;
• Capacity building and backstopping on technologies related to Crop Development, Agrinutrition,Land Development and/or Agribusiness Development;
• Implementation of programmes and projects on Crop Development, Agrinutrition, Land Development and/or Agribusiness Development in the Sub-County;
• Collating, analyzing, storing and disseminating Crops Development, Agrinutrition, Land Development and/or Agribusiness Development information;
• Participating in field days, exhibitions and shows;
• Preparation of work plans and budgets; Compilation of periodic technical reports;
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of agricultural extension services, programmes and projects in the Sub-County and;
• Any other duty as may be prescribed by the Sub County Agriculture Officer from time to time.
