Air Logistics Warehouse Supervisor at Kuehne + Nagel

Your Role

The main objective is to coordinate the day-to-day operations for perishable exports efficiently and ensure proper documentation is done as per procedures and regulations on time while ensuring any challenge is resolved within the shortest time possible.

Your Responsibilities

• Planning and Co-ordinating the day-to-day operations for perishable exports, assigning duties/roles to staff evenly in conjunction with other supervisors and team leaders.
• Supervising offloading and turnaround of trucks, scaling of shipments, temperatures checks, vacuum cooling etc. and to ensure that all tasks in Kaplog related to these functions are performed before end of the shift.
• Sorting, Scaling and Ensuring proper build-up of pallets in line with the days planning from Kaplog and build up in Kaplog is completed and in accordance with the set standards by the airlines.
• Responsible for reporting to the Air Logistics Warehouse Manager on any discrepancies / damages.
• Coordination and roll out of Build Ups and loose shipments. Ensuring dispatch of pallets and loose shipments in Kaplog is done timely.
• Ensure proper handling of produce, re-organizing of the cold room / compound after day’s work, maintain high standards of hygiene and enforcing safety practices all the time.
• Adhere to secure requirements and training as per Kenya Civil Aviation Authority standards.
• Prepare, verify, and send flight advice to the relevant recipients.

Your Skills and Experiences

• Diploma in Clearing, Forwarding & Logistics Airfreight procedures and forwarding applications, /Airside Safety certificate. 
• 5 years’ experience in the Logistics Industry & or Warehousing and at least 2 years’ experience in cool chain management and managing people.
• Dangerous Goods Regulations Training will be an added advantage.
• Good leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Organizational skills and good problem-solving ability.
• Knowledge of policies and regulations governing the freight industry.
• Proficiency in English and Kiswahili languages
