    Assistant Business Development Manager – Branches

    The Company is recruiting for the position of Assistant Business Development Manager – Branches for the Group Business Department. The job holder will be based at its Head Office in Madison House, Nairobi.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. The job holder will be responsible for acquiring new business through Madison branches and ensure that all the offices are focusing on Group Life Business and are productive on all the products.
    2. Identifying SACCOs operating at our branch markets, Map them and create long lasting relationships.
    3. Assist the branches in identifying opportunities for Group Life Business in their markets as well as other sectors that are untapped. Continuously identify any grouping that is able to pool members together under one policy.
    4. Ensure constant communication with Clients, through the branches/intermediaries and always look for gaps to cross sell/ upsell.
    5. Keep up the marketing intelligence and always identify the emerging needs for different sectors and actively give feedback and be involved with product development/packaging to meet the new market needs.
    6. Actively work on doing the business as per the parameters laid down in the AKI Best Practice for Group Life by having clear benchmarks to achieve the parameters and contribute towards winning in the awards.
    7. Proactively train the branches, the independent agents/brokers in thecounties and the affinity/Associations on our products and the available opportunities to grow the business.
    8. Collect all premiums of business sold as per the Company policy.

    Qualifications and Work Experience

    1. Bachelor’s degree in a business related field.
    2. Professional qualifications or good progress towards IIK, ACII OR CIM.
    3. 3yrs working experience in insurance – business development or sales.
    4. Good communication and presentation skills.
    5. Experience in handling corporate clients.
    6. Negotiation and closing skills.
    7. Relationship management skills – clients and intermediaries.
