    Assistant Commissioner for Cooperatives

    Duties and Responsibilities
    Specific duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -

    • Provide technical advice in the area of specialization;
    • Advice on cooperative investments;
    • Analyzing data for policy formulation;
    • Enforcing compliance with cooperative legislation;
    • Carry out market research and disseminating research findings;
    • Promoting value addition and processing;
    • Conducting cooperative banking inspections;
    • Undertaking cooperative risk assessment; and
    • Preparing and evaluating cooperative activities and trends for promoting the cooperative movement. Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment in to this grade, an officer must have: -

    • Served in the grade of Principal Cooperatives Officer, Job Group CPSB 06/’N’ or in a comparable position in the Public Service for a minimum period of three (3) years;
    • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business administration, Economics, Sociology, Law, Cooperative management, marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management and Organizational Development or Finance from a recognized institution;
    • Possession of a Master’s degree in Commerce, Business administration, Economics, Sociology, Law, Cooperative management, marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management and Organizational Development
    • from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
    • Diploma in any of the following disciplines; Co-operative Management, Co-operative auditing, Marketing, Internal Auditing, or Finance qualification from a recognized institution

    OR

    • Certified Public Secretaries (CPS) Kenya Part III or Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Kenya Part III from a recognized institution; and
    • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

    Method of Application
