Associate Director, Health at Equity Bank Kenya

Main Responsibilities 

• Overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the health pillar of EGF, while providing support to the other pillar leads and functions within EGF. 
• Program conceptualization and program design for priority focus areas for EGF in Health 
• Contribute to Equity Afya’s strategy and workplans targeted towards modeling and driving access to affordable, high quality healthcare services. 
• Take part in engaging, onboarding, and maintaining partnerships towards EGF’s aspirations in Health. 
• Contributing to the formulation of EGF strategy in keeping with Equity Group’s Africa Recovery & Resilience Plan via input to Group Health strategy.  
• Function as an escalation point for all operational issues within EGF Health programs and take suitable action by interfacing with the concerned stakeholders to obtain timely resolutions. 
• High level liaison and relationship management of key stakeholders including funding partners, implementing partners, regulators, policy makers and government and other key industry/ sector players.
• Monitoring and supporting feedback loop to strengthen Equity Group’s offering across the Health Sector 

Key Deliverables for this position  

• Programs - In country, Regional and Global opportunities. 
• Stewardship – Insights and team collaboration to deliver on the Equity Group Foundation Health Programs. 
• Fundraising for Equity Group Foundation Health programs 
• Implementation – Lead implementation and crowd in appropriate partners for delivery of Equity Group Foundation Health Programs. 
• Innovation: Innovative approaches to deliver access, quality, and affordability in health 
• Risk mitigation and management. 
• Culture, reporting, Corporate Governance – Developing, recommending, and fostering the values, culture, and philosophy of Equity Afya & Equity Group Foundation 
• Stakeholder/ Relationship Management – Under guidance of EGF Executive Chairman, representing EGF Health externally to customers, community, other organizations and key stakeholders. 
• Regulatory & Compliance – Facilitating strict compliance to statutory & regulatory norms of process/operational adherence. 
• Customer loyalty and growth in customer base. 

Qualifications

Academic & Professional Qualifications & Skills 

• Advanced degree in Health - MBA, MPH, M.Sc., 
• PhD in Healthcare/ Health Economics other Health & Allied courses present an advantage. 
• Bachelor’s degree in medicine (M.B. Ch.B.), Nursing (BScN), health related courses
• Project Management Professional (PMP) and other relevant Project Management qualifications presents an added advantage.
• A track record of high performance in the health sector.
• Commitment to results, leading change, and motivation. 

Relevant Experience  

• At least 10 years leading a high performing organization in the health sector.  
• High level commercial experience, exposure, and hands on skill 
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management competency & experience, with strong leadership skills. 
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills 
• Distinguished hands-on execution skills.
