Auto Mechanic at Intrepid Group

The Position   

As a Mechanic with Intrepid, you will ensure the diagnosis of mechanical problems, and the repairing, and rebuilding of motor vehicles and equipment. You will troubleshoot mechanical problems (sometimes from a remote location) and have the capacity to make decisions independently. You will keep our equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles, completing preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation, and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters 

Some of the everyday responsibilities also include maintaining vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to our Fleet and Maintenance Manager, based in our office in Nairobi 

Some of the skills you’ll bring with you are: 

• Auto mechanic qualification and experience with emphasis on heavy commercial vehicles 
• Heavy commercial driving license is required. Passenger Service Vehicle license preferred
• Motor vehicle welding will be an added advantage  
• Travel experience in Intrepid Destinations in East Africa 
• An understanding of and commitment to customer satisfaction 
• Ability to handle a multitude of tasks that may be on the go at the one time 
• You will have outstanding organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time while sharing Intrepid’s core values of integrity, innovation, fun, passion, growth, and responsibility.
