    Bancassurance Relationship Executive - Coast Region

    Job Purpose

    The role holder will be responsible for leading and managing bank partners’ regional relationships in the domicile region to ensure that the company achieves its corporate goals in terms of growth, profitability, customer service and the regional revenue targets as a set. Also, to implement sales plans/actions and identify new partnerships within the region for all lines of business.
    Perform any other duties as may be allocated from time to time.

    Key Responsibilities

    Sales Management

    • Clearly understands sales targets set, influences and drives the achievement of Bancassurance sales through partners.
    • Ensures Britam Products cross-selling takes place in new and existing business across all bank partners.
    • Plans and executes exciting and innovative sales tactics.
    • Identifies gaps/anomalies and develops ideas to rectify and improve performance by way of monitoring regional and bank branches' performance in line with set out targets.
    • Assists in the implementation and repositioning of new product initiatives.
    • Ensure that renewal business retention targets are met as per the different set parameters.
    • Provides timely feedback to their supervisor on queries/complaints and sales statistics, plus market intelligence.
    • Advises and shares best practices, tactics and action plans with bank partners to close sales gaps.
    • Acquire and retain profitable businesses in line with acceptable loss ratios.
    • Provide quotations as and when required by intermediaries within set-out time frames.
    • Ensure premium payments for all closed sales are within the company’s set credit control policy
    • Adhere to regulatory/ compliance and internal procedures in regard to bancassurance businesses. 
    • Ensure maintenance of a healthy sales pipeline that supports new business onboarding across all lines of business
    • Ensure to maintain the appropriate product mix as per set targets
    • Ensure timely preparation of required presentations, sales pitches and product write-ups

    Relationship Building

    • Builds, maintains and sustains business relationships with the regional partner teams, Business development officers, Credit officers, Relationship Managers and Direct Sales teams.
    • Active management of relationships with all bank partners to ensure the smooth running of the distribution channels in delivering targets. 
    • Integrate well with all members of the team into a harmonious unit committed to the team vision and direction within the team (Intra-team). 
    • Receptive to constructive criticism, feedback and ideas from supervisors, business partners, colleagues and subordinates.
    • Applies knowledge, resources and experience to resolve problems.
    • Maintain event calendars for all partners within the region to increase team building and synergy while ensuring brand building. 
    • Maintain an activities tracker that ensures that all activities and initiatives are well-tracked at all times
    • Ensure relationship-building with key customers and service providers within the region
    • Ensure that a record of all partners officers is maintained and regularly updated to include the location, telephone number and email address of the respective officers in the region
    • Ensure that route maps and call trees are maintained to facilitate regular engagement of officers within the region as shall be set out from time to time. 
    • Ensure after-sales service support, including provision of requisite contracting documentation such as policy documents, cover notes, debt statements, cancellation notices, endorsements etc
    • Ensure that all SLAs and TATs are met and immediately report any deviations to inform corrective action


    • Ensures competency-based training on products to our mutual bank partners (Across all lines of businesses) takes place as and when required.
    • Ensures that induction training is carried out for all new partner officers within the region on Britam processes and procedures. 
    • Ensures that all partner officers are well-appraised on the end-to-end customer journeys for the various solutions offered.
    • Ensure that customers are well appraised on the solutions taken up through training, write-ups and follow-up for feedback after solution takeup. 


    • Ensure that stipulated reports are prepared and shared within the agreed timelines and in the format stipulated. 
    • Ensure that monthly expense reports are prepared and submitted within the stipulated processes and procedures.

    Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

    • Bachelor's degree in a business-related degree
    • At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar position
    • Professional qualification e.g. AIIK will be an added advantage
    • Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements
    • Knowledge of insurance products across all lines
    • Sales and marketing management skills
