BI Developer at Equity Bank Kenya

Role Summary: 

As a BI and Data Developer / Engineer, you will take ownership of the full data lifecycle—from ingestion and transformation to reporting and optimization. This role requires strong technical proficiency in data modeling, ETL pipeline development, and BI dashboard creation, with a deep understanding of data governance, performance tuning, and cloud data platforms. You will work cross-functionally with analysts, product teams, and business stakeholders to design scalable, maintainable, and secure data solutions that drive actionable insights and strategic decision-making. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design, implement, and maintain robust data models to support analytical use cases and business reporting. 
• Build and manage high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate structured and semi-structured data from internal and external sources. 
• Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and maintainability using industry best practices. 
• Develop compelling, self-service dashboards and visualizations using modern BI tools to empower business teams. 
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance across reports and datasets through validation and monitoring. 
• Automate reporting and alerting mechanisms to enable real-time or near-real-time business insights. 
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable data solutions aligned with business goals. 
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior BI and data developers where applicable. 

Qualifications

Education & Experience: 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline. 
• 3–6 years of experience in business intelligence, data engineering, or analytics development roles.
