Bond Keeper at Platinum Outsourcing and Logistics

Job Purpose

• To manage and control the receipt, storage, custody, documentation, and release of goods held in a customs bonded warehouse, ensuring compliance with Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Customs requirements, company procedures, and applicable customs laws.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and verify bonded cargo against customs documentation, delivery orders and warehouse records.
• Ensure all goods entering and leaving the bonded warehouse are properly documented and authorised.
• Maintain accurate records of bonded cargo, including quantities, descriptions, locations, entries and releases.
• Monitor the movement and status of goods under customs control.
• Coordinate with Customs Officers, Declarants, Clearing Agents, transporters and clients on cargo releases.
• Verify customs entries, release orders and other relevant documentation before cargo is released.
• Ensure cargo is physically available and correctly identified before release.
• Prevent unauthorised removal, substitution, damage or tampering with bonded goods.
• Conduct regular stock reconciliation and report discrepancies immediately.
• Maintain proper filing of customs and warehouse documentation for audit purposes.
• Facilitate customs inspections, verification and examination of bonded cargo.
• Ensure goods are stored in designated locations and appropriately labelled.
• Monitor customs bond periods and promptly escalate cargo approaching expiry or requiring action.
• Prepare daily/periodic reports on bonded cargo receipts, releases, balances and discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with warehouse security, safety and operational procedures.
• Support KRA customs audits, inspections and inventory verification exercises.
• Report damaged, missing, excess, short or unaccounted-for cargo immediately.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of customs and client information.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma in Clearing & Forwarding/Diploma in Customs administration or relevant raining from KESRA.
• Relevant customs/clearing certification will be an added advantage.
• iCMS Certificate.
