Software Engineering Manager at BURN

About The Role

Burn Manufacturing is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead Burn’s software engineering team. They will play a key role in growing and nurturing the software team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading a large team of diverse software engineers. They will have an open and levelheaded management style. The Software engineering manager will report to and collaborate with the Director of Systems Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity to establish an entirely new product in the world of clean cooking.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage direct reports in addition to consultants.
• Mentor, inspire, and nurture individual members of the software team.
• Monitor and direct the application of the software team.
• Conduct code, design, and deliverable reviews.
• Establish and enforce SOP and best practices
• Contribute to the future design and structure of the systems teams within Burn.
• Contribute to existing system architecture and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with all business units to create system requirements and success criteria.
• Report to the Director of system engineering and Chief Systems Architect.
• Collaborate with the product management team to confirm priorities and resource allocation.
• Ensure solutions meet all technical, business, and user needs.
• Establish best practices for all aspects of the software development and release.
• Manage team resource allocation and prioritization.
• Conducting interviews and recruit for new staff as needed.
• Conduct and lead scrum sessions.

Skills And Experience

• 5+ years of related experience in software engineering and development.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• Proficiency in reading and/or writing software in Python, PHP, Java, C, C++, C/AL, AL, Jason frameworks knowledge and experience of the systems development process.
• Proven experience in the design and implementation of both front-end and back-end software systems.
• Previous experience managing a team with multiple direct reports.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise systems, networking modules, and software integration.
• Knowledgeable Scrum Master or proficient in Agile methodologies.
• Experience with AWS and ability to implement solutions using AWS services. (e.g AWS IOT core)
