Chair Audit Committee (1 Post) Re - advert at Mombasa County Public Service Board

Terms of Service: Members of the Audit Committee shall serve on a part-time basis for a period of three (3) years and shall be eligible for re-appointment for further one (1) term only

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide strategic directions to the Audit Committee
• Provide oversight in risk management, controls and governance processes and audit affaires of the County Government and make appropriate recommendations audit affairs of the County Executive Committee regarding internal control and audit matters.
• Follow up on the implementation of the recommendation of internal and external auditors.
• Arrange for a periodic review of the effectiveness of the audit committee alongside its mandate.
• Demonstrate independence and impartiality in decision making which accord with the legal constitutional and policy requirement; and Provide clarification to members on the audit committee's responsibilities

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this position a person must have:

• Be a Kenyan Citizen
• Bachelor's degree in any of the following Accounting, Auditing, Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Procurement, Law or any other related field from recognized University in Kenya
• Master's degree in any of the above field will be an added advantage.
• At least ten (10) years of working experience.
• Satisfy the provisions of chapter six of the constitution.
• Demonstrate understanding of national values & principles of governance referred in Article 10 and values and principles of public service referred in मार of the constitutional of Kenya 
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the objects, principles and functions of the Government of Mombasa County,
• Possess a good understanding of government operations and financial reporting.
• Be a member in good standing of a relevant professional body.
