    Channel Assistant - Tier III Modern Trade Outlets

    ROLE AND CONTEXT

    OBJECTIVES:

    • Seeking a dynamic channel manager to drive Tier III modern trade growth in emerging markets.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, marketing, or related field.
    • Proficient in MS Office.
    • Knowledge of sales tools.
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
    • Adaptable and effective in fast-paced environments.

    EXPERIENCE

    • 2-4 years in modem trade sales, ideally in FMCG or retail.
    • Familiar with Kenya's Tier III retail landscape. Experience leading field sales teams.

    • Ability to manage Retail & Distributor Engagements.

    KEY OUTPUTS / TASKS

    • Drive growth in Tier III supermarkets through targeted sales strategies.
    • Lead and motivate field sales teams to meet distribution, visibility, and revenue goals.
    • Build and manage strong relationships with key retailers and distributors.
    • Monitor sales performance and KPIs; report insights and recommend actions.
    • Conduct regular market visits and competitor analysis to guide strategy.
    • Plan and execute promotions, in-store activations, and product launches.
    • Support negotiations of trading terms, JBPS, and commercial agreements with key accounts.
    • Identify new Tier III outlets to expand market coverage.
    • Ensure timely execution of trade marketing initiatives at store level.
    • Collaborate with supply chain to maintain optimal stock levels in-store.
    • Track competitor pricing and recommend adjustments to stay competitive.
    • Support training and on boarding of new sales representatives.
    • Ensure compliance with brand guidelines and planogram execution.
    • Gather field intelligence to inform product and route-to-market improvements.
