Chief Pharmaceutical Technologist at Kitui County

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

1. Served in the grade of Pharmaceutical Technologist for a minimum period of three (3) years;
2. Diploma in either Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Technology or equivalent qualification approved by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board from a recognized institution;
3. Certificate of Enrollment as Pharmaceutical Technologist awarded by Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB);
4. Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
5. Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution; and
6. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

1. Preparing and executing Plans to ensure efficient running of a health facility;
2. Preparing and submitting reports on drug/medicine;
3. Providing health education to patients and other health personnel;
4. Promoting rational drug/medicines use;
5. Developing and evaluating training programmes and preparing reports;
6. Supervising and assessing students/interns;
7. Maintaining books/registers of drugs/medicines and non-pharmaceuticals;
8. Providing health education to patients on drug/medicine use; and
9. Participating in ward rounds and advising on drug/medicine issues.
