    Chief Veterinary Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Specific duties and responsibilities at this level will entail;
    • Disseminating data/information on animal health, products and markets;
    • Collaborating with stakeholders in providing veterinary services;
    • Undertaking disease control activities such as disease search, vaccination and enforcement of livestock movement regulations;
    • Training stakeholders in vector control programs, animal health, breeding, welfare and good veterinary practices;
    • Treating sick animals; and
    • Collating data and preparing reports on animal health, products and markets Undertaking postmortem
    • examinations and other diagnostic tests. Requirement for Appointment

    For appointment in to this grade, an officer must have; -

    • Served in the grade of Senior Veterinary Officer, Job Group CPSB 07/’M’ for a minimum period of three (3) years;
    • Be in possession of a Bachelors of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) Degree from a recognized institution;
    • Be registered by Kenya Veterinary Board; and
    • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

    Method of Application
