Consultancy to Review and Align VVF Literacy Intervention Curriculum with Kenya’s Competency-Based Education (CBE) at Vibrant Village Foundation

As the Government of Kenya rolls out the Competency-Based Education (CBE), VVF seeks to ensure its literacy interventions are aligned with the national education framework. To this end, VVF-Kenya is seeking the services of a qualified and experienced education consultant to conduct a comprehensive VVF curriculum review and provide actionable recommendations for alignment with CBE standards.

Objectives of the Consultancy

• Review the existing VVF literacy curriculum and compare it with Kenya’s CBE for Grades 1–3.
• Identify gaps and areas for improvement.
• Provide concrete, practical recommendations for curriculum alignment.
• Take the lead in actioning the identified recommendations.
• Present findings and recommendations to VVF’s leadership team.

Scope of Work

The consultancy will include:

• Desk review of VVF and CBE materials
• Field visits to selected primary schools
• Interviews and stakeholder consultations
• Development of a gap analysis report
• Presentation of findings and recommendations
• Facilitating the actioning of the findings and recommendations
• Submission of a final revised report

• Inception report and methodology
• Desk review summary
• Field visit and stakeholder consultation report
• Draft curriculum gap analysis report
• Presentation to VVF leadership
• Final consultancy report with recommendations

Consultancy Timeline

• Duration: June 10 th 2025 – July 7 th 2025

Qualifications and Experience

• Advanced degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or related field
• Proven experience in curriculum analysis and educational consulting
• In-depth knowledge of Kenya’s CBC and early-grade learning
• Strong writing and presentation skills
• Previous experience working with NGOs or literacy programs is an advantage
