Purpose of consultancy
To provide project and technical expertise for advocacy and web platform activities for the Immunization, Vaccines and Biological’s Department (IVB).
Deliverables
Output 1: Provide technical and management input for WHO World Immunization Week 2023.
- Activity 1.1: Create an event page and campaign site and contribute to regularly updating its content.
- Activity 1.2: Include regional success stories on the website.
- Activity 1.3: Facilitate the development of the campaign material (toolkit, social media kit, banners, images, colour scheme, etc.).
- Activity 1.4: Promote the campaign.
- Activity 1.5: Contribute to the development of campaign videos.
- Activity 1.6: Work closely with graphic designers to guarantee the campaign material meets the requests and deadlines.
- Activity 1.7: Promote the campaign by lighting up their landmarks (e.g., Jet d’eau in Geneva).
Expected Delivery Date: 30 April 2023.
Output 2: Provide advocacy and technical input in preparation of key IVB event related to the year of intensification of routine immunization serves including UNGA 2023.
- Activity 2.1: Contribute to the concept for a visual installation for UNGA 2023 and advise on themes.
- Activity 2.2: Contribute to the development of a toolkit, social media content and strategy for UNGA 2023.
- Activity 2.3: Promote the UNGA 2023 both internally and externally (intranet, newsletter, media, social media, etc.).
- Activity 2.4: Promote IVB communications campaigns both internally and externally (intranet, newsletter, media, social media, etc.).
Expected Delivery Date: 31 January 2024.
Output 3: Facilitate and contribute to the monthly publication of IVB’s Global Immunization Newsletter (GIN).
- Activity 3.1: Coordinate inputs to the monthly newsletter at both global and regional level.
- Activity 3.2: Create the draft newsletter for clearance and incorporate comments and feedback to produce the final version, including final editing.
- Activity 3.3: Create content (feature stories) for the newsletter as required.
- Activity 3.4: Promote the newsletter on WHO’s social media.
- Activity 3.5: Guarantee the newsletter content is complete and submitted on time.
Expected Delivery Date: 31 January 2024.
Output 4: Provide technical support to IVB Department’s web platform (Sitefinity).
- Activity 4.1: Finalize edits and translation links to documents uploaded to Sitefinity using Silktide as well as ensuring it meets accessibility guidelines.
- Activity 4.2: Provide web editing and publishing support to IVB teams.
- Activity 4.3: Provide technical support for creating new content items for “tools” (such as .xlsx files).

Qualifications, experience, skills and languages
Educational Qualifications:
Essential:
- University degree in social sciences and/or IT management, web design.
Experience
Essential:
- At least five years of relevant experience in corporate communications and website development where Sitefinity Content Management System is used.
Skills/Knowledge:
Essential:
- Advanced knowledge of WebIT (CMS tool for WHO).
- Advanced knowledge of Sitefinity (CMS tool for WHO).
- Knowledge of photo editing software (for optimizing photos for web).
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat (for editing PDFs).
- Expertise in handling Facebook and Twitter accounts.
