    Consultant for Recruitment of Board Directors for CARE International in Kenya (CIK)

    Scope of work
    The consultant will be responsible for the following:

    • Develop the terms of reference that will give an overview of the role of the above prospective Board Members profiles.
    • Conduct profile search on prospective candidates.
    • Refine candidate profiles, competencies, and original search and sourcing criteria.
    • Conduct due diligence to ensure compatibility with CARE.
    • Source, assess, and screen potential candidates to gauge relevant experience, interest, fit, and competencies.
    • Provide candidate assessments, develop interview protocols, conduct preliminary interviews, and provide a shortlist of recommended candidates.
    • Present a shortlist to CIK with a full report of candidates’ credentials to CARE. for further interviews.

    Reporting Lines

    • The consultant will report Directly to the Country Director and the CARE Kenya’s Executive teams and the outputs will be reviewed by CARE’s Legal Counsel.

    Qualification of the Consultant

    • Extensive experience in Board and Executive recruitment and management.
    • Registered with the relevant corporate governance authorities with valid certifications and practicing licenses.
    • Understand Kenyan legal environment and non-profit set up and the laws that govern the sector.
    • Experience in corporate governance.
    • Understanding of global or international development field and experience working in international contexts.
    • Strong Communication skills as well as Interpersonal and presentation skills.
    • Applying for this Consultancy
    • Applicants interested in applying for this consultancy should provide both a cost and a technical proposal based on the following parameters:

    Financial Proposal:

    • A breakdown of all eligible costs proposed by the consultant to carry out all indicated deliverables in the time frame proposed; and
    • The cost proposal should include daily rate before and after all eligible taxes and the total number of LOE/workdays proposed.
    • All statutory documents- KRA Compliance of Compliance, Relevant registration documents and certifications.
    • All costs must be quoted in Kenya Shillings.

    Technical Proposal:

    • 4-pages (maximum) outline of how the deliverables will be reached/developed (based on
    • a clear methodology and outline of key approaches to be used); and
    • 1 to 2 page detailed work plan of how the deliverables will be met/produced in the accorded
    • timeframe (including on and off-site days).
