Consultant Paeditrician at Imara Mediplus Medical Centre

JOB SUMMARY
To cultivate a safe, secure and healthy environment for patients, colleagues and staff and provide exceptional quality care services to patients and their family members.
To provide high-quality medical care to infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring the delivery of compassionate and evidence-based paediatric care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend and manage acute paediatric cases and emergencies as well as referrals in the outpatient.
• Facilitating inpatient admission and follow-up diagnostics, review and management of patients in the paediatric ward and newborn unit when called upon.
• Conduct well-baby/Well-child consultations for growth and development monitoring, nutrition consultation and vaccination.
• Provide Clinical education to patients and caregivers on common childhood illnesses, childhood immunization and nutrition.
• Attend Newborn deliveries in maternity/Theatre department and follow-up care for all newborns until discharge from the hospital. Organize and facilitate follow-up clinics for newborn patients.
• Participate in marketing activities to promote the Hospital's brand and Train and mentor doctors and nurses.
• Advice on strategy for department growth and participate in formulation of departmental SOPs.
• Audit departmental performance and make recommendations for improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of surgery
• Master's degree in Paediatrics or equivalent specialization.
• Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council with a Valid Practice License.
• Certificate in ACLS, BLS will be an added advantage
• Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover as well as Proficiency in computer applications.
• At least 3 years of clinical experience as a Paediatrician with in-depth knowledge and experience in clinical diagnosis and management of paediatric illnesses and emergencies.
