Customer Service Executive-Freight Specialist at Execafrica Recruitment Limited

Our client, in the logistics sector, is looking for a Customer Service Executive-Freight Specialist. Ideal candidate MUST have experience in the same Industry.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure a high-level hand on approach in relation to all aspects of the service including operations, sales, customer services, credit/collections and cost.
2. Timely response to and resolving customer queries on a daily basis.
3. Generate sales leads and offer support to sales to meet customer requirements.
4. Ensuring Rates sent out are followed up and converted into business.
5. Coordinate with the origins and destinations on customer inquiries ensuring proper documentation are received from client prior to arrival of the shipment.
6. Handle freight enquiries, quotations and coordination with local and international clients
7. Provide support for the sales, to quote client and follow-on business awarded and lost business.
8. Manage shipment from origin to destination to ensure customers’ satisfaction.
9. Coordinate with multiple stakeholders internally.
10. Timely invoicing for all shipments handled.
11. Manage and improve customer retention. Analyze customers’ problems and find solutions to regain them.
12. Analyze customers performance to increase growth and production.
13. Coordinate with Clearance team to ensure all customer operational needs are met when needed.

Required skills and experience

1. Industry Experience required in a similar position.
2. Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
3. Self-motivated with good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team and be accountable for tasks and actions.
4. Excellent working knowledge in Freight, Perishables and General Cargo.
5. Knowledge of Cargowise an added advantage.
6. Proficient in all Microsoft packages.
7. Proactive communicator in the use of email and phone.
8. Deadline focused.
9. Must be able to work well under pressure.
