    Kenya Utalii College (KUC) is a leading African hospitality and tourism training institution. Established 47 years ago the College has trained over 60,000 graduates from around the world who continue to serve in the local and international hospitality and tourism industry. The College opened its doors in 1975 and was established under the Hotels and Restaurants Act, (Cap. 494, Laws of Kenya) which has since been replaced by the Tourism Act, 2011.     Deputy Director, Admissions, Placement & Industry Liaison - 1 Post

    • The Deputy Director, Academic Affairs is responsible to the Director, Academic Affairs

    Job Description
    Duties and Responsibilities are to:

    • Development and implementation of admission policy, strategy.
    • Management of student intakes according to the admissions policy.
    • Management of data for enrolment of new students
    • Representation of the division in the Academic Board and Admissions Committee.
    • Creating records for admitted students
    • Career guidance for prospective students
    • Generation of admission reports
    • Coordination of Kenya Utalii College alumni activities to promote close relationship between the alumni and the institution.
    • Coordinate national tourism competitions for the tourism industry personnel to enhance professionalism
    • Oversee the implementation of the performance contract targets in the students’ administration and industrial training division for compliance.
    • Organize for industrial attachments for the KUC full time students to provide professional exposure.
    • Liaise with the tourism industry on job placement for KUC graduates to facilitate their employment.
    • Coordinate mentorship program for the KUC students in preparation for their industrial attachment.
    • Coordination of industrial training programs

    Person Specifications

    • Masters degree from a recognized institution
    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences/ Education/ Management/ Curriculum Studies/ Finance/ Hospitality/ Tourism from a reputable institution
    • At least twelve (12) years relevant working experience three (3) of which must be in supervisory position
    • Membership to a professional body where applicable
    • Meet the provisions of Chapter six of the Constitution.
    • Demonstrated results in work performance
    • Computer literacy
