    Deputy Director Human Resource and Administration

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Implementing strategic objective on Human resource functions;
    • Participating in staff recruitment, selection, induction and placement;
    • Providing support in manpower planning, job analysis and job descriptions;
    • Administration of salary and Management of payroll;
    • Administering staff medical scheme and welfare programmes;
    • Administering employment contracts, pensions and gratuities;
    • Participating in handling employees’ grievances related to work environment;
    • Supervising interns’ orientation, contracting and duties and space allocation;
    • Implementing health and safety and first aid measures in liaison with Sergeant at Arms;
    • Documentation of all actions taken within the disciplinary process;
    • Assisting in developing and implementing plans and goals for the department;
    • Working with the Director to coordinate and supervise daily department operations; and
    • Overseeing leave management.

    Requirements for appointment

    • Five (5) years relevant experience three (3) of which must have been in senior management
    • Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Business Management, Project Planning and Management, Strategic Planning, leadership and Governance, Social Science or any other relevant discipline from a recognized Institution;
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Business Management, Project Planning and Management, Strategic Planning, Leadership and Governance, Social Sciences or any other relevant discipline from a recognized Institution
    • Registration with the Institute of Human Resource Management of Kenya or any other relevant professional body with a good standing;
    • Demonstration of managerial, administrative, integrity as prescribed in Chapter Six of the Constitution.
    •  Demonstrate professional competence in work performance and results and exhibited a thorough understanding of national goals, policies and objectives;

    In addition, all applicants should submit clearance from the Criminal Investigations Department as part of compliance with Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya; a certificate or a receipt from the CID indicating that one is awaiting the certificate of good conduct will suffice.
