    Deputy Director, Investments Appraisal and Administration

    JOB GRADE KDC 3

    Job Purpose

    The Deputy Director Investments Appraisal and Administration will be responsible for the
    development and review of investments and loan recovery policies, monitoring and evaluation of the existing investments and recommending appropriate strategies; and managing the credit risk on the loan portfolio in the most profitable and cost-effective manner in line with KDC objectives.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Developing and implementing customer centric strategies based on market needs;
    • Identifying opportunities to initiate viable projects;
    • Identifying project funding options;
    • Evaluating the viability of the investment opportunities;
    • Identifying and mitigating key project risks;
    • Monitoring the implementation and operation of projects;
    • Ensuring compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements in projects;
    • Managing the projects portfolio;
    • Developing and implementing strategies for attracting and retaining prime clients;
    • Preparing investment performance reports;

    Person Specifications

    For a candidate to be appointed to this position, they must have;

    1. At least ten (10) years’ relevant work experience six (6) of which must have been in a management position;
    2. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Business, Economics, Engineering, or any other relevant field from recognized institution;
    3. Master’s degree in any relevant field from a recognized institution;
    4. Certified qualification in any of the following; Financial Analyst (CFA), Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA), Public Accountant (CPA (K) or Association of Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA (UK) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    5. Member of a relevant professional body;
    6. Management course will be added advantage;
    7. Financial modelling and analysis skills;
    8. Proposal writing skills;
    9. Excellent business acumen;
    10. Excellent negotiation, and communication skills;
    11. Team development, strong leadership and managerial skills;
    12. Proficiency in Computer Applications;
    13. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
