    Deputy Director QMS and Risk Management Co-ordination

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Advising on issues relating to Quality Assurance and Risk Management.
    • Initiating development of Quality Assurance and Risk Management policies and strategies.
    • Ensuring implementation and compliance with Quality Assurance and Risk Management policies and strategies.
    • Assisting the Chief Executive Officer in developing the Quality Assurance and Risk Management agenda.
    • Ensuring compliance with quality standards for all procured goods and services.
    • Conducting research on relevant standards for adoption by the Fund.
    • Ensuring appropriate management of risks affecting the Fund, employees, customers, reputation, assets and stakeholders.
    • Overseeing risk management in:
    • Corporate governance
    • Enterprise risk
    • Information and security risk
    • Regulatory and operational risk
    • Technology risk
    • Promoting and monitoring continuous quality improvement in line with ISO standards.
    • Compiling data for trend analysis, reporting, and developing action plans.
    • Conducting regular quality assessment visits on programmes within the region.
    • Preparing an annual Quality Improvement Plan and presenting it for review.
    • Overseeing compliance with policies and procedures and recommending improvements.
    • Developing and implementing staff training on Quality and Risk Management.
    • Managing risk incidents and maintaining a risk register.
    • Collaborating with departments to ensure efficient workflow and ISO compliance.
    • Supporting strategic planning through documentation and data compilation.
    • Organizing and overseeing regular ISO audits.
    • Reviewing ISO procedures for compliance.
    • Responding to risk-related concerns within the Fund.
    • Advising on innovation programmes in the tourism sector.
    • Overseeing innovation frameworks including evaluation and incubation.
    • Recommending process improvements through benchmarking.
    • Spearheading innovation to align with industry trends.
    • Guiding planning of efficiency-driven initiatives.
    • Advising on strategies to maintain organizational relevance.
    • Reviewing and guiding implementation of surveys.
    • Developing linkages with industry stakeholders.
    • Advising on emerging trends and innovative solutions.
    • Reviewing innovation frameworks in the tourism sector.
    • Overseeing organizational research and surveys.
    • Reviewing the Fund’s research portfolio.
    • Reviewing management agenda items on research and innovation.

    Person Specification

    • Minimum of twelve (12) years’ relevant work experience, with at least four (4) years at Principal Officer level or equivalent.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Public Policy, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent qualification.
    • Master’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Development, Development Studies, International Relations, Public Administration, Business Administration or equivalent.
    • Membership in a relevant professional body (where applicable) and in good standing.
    • Leadership course certificate lasting at least four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
    • Proficiency in computer applications.

    • Appointments to this grade shall be made on permanent and pensionable terms.
