Training Consultant - Payment Systems at Devimpact Institute

Training Responsibilities

• Design and improve new training courses and modules in expertise areas;
• Apply appropriate training approaches to facilitate high quality training sessions;
• Design and improve the training materials, tools and training methods;
• Advice on content and process arrangements needed to optimize quality delivery of the training;
• Keep track of the participant’s learning curve during the training;
• Provide post training support to the participants;
• Develop proposals to acquire new training assignments.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

• Master’s degree or higher qualification in, Economics, Finance, Banking, Mathematics, Business or any other related degree;
• Possession of Professional Qualifications in Payment Systems;
• Concrete experience in Payment Systems (Low and Large Value) at the National level with the Central Bank of Kenya or regional Central Banks both EAC and COMESA;
• Skilled in Financial Inclusion, Fintech analysis, Emerging disruptive technologies (CBDC and Crypto-Assets) analysis;
• Vast knowledge and understanding of the Central Bank functions;
• At least 5 years of proven work experience Banking Operations and Payment Systems, Financial Services, Economics, Accounting or similar operations;
• Clear understanding of the national payments systems policy and regulatory framework as well as internationally accepted best practices for effective payments systems’ oversight;
• Knowledge on payment systems policy formulation and analysis;
• Sound knowledge of on-site and off-site surveillance of payment systems;
• Advanced skills in MS office applications, in particular Excel and PowerPoint;
• Proven experience in carrying out consultancy assignments and facilitating training in the expertise areas mentioned above;
• Familiar with learner-centered training methods and participatory training techniques;
• High level of enthusiasm and confidence in interaction with diverse groups of people (various ages, backgrounds, nationalities);
