Director Frequency Spectrum Management

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to Senior Director/Licensing, Standards and Frequency Management, the duties and responsibilities of this position shall entail:
- Providing advisory services to CA management and Board on all matters pertaining to frequency spectrum management;
- Managing the utilization of radio frequency spectrum resource to ensure maximum efficiency and optimal utilization;
- Undertaking radio frequency spectrum planning, taking into account the need to facilitate new and emerging technologies;
- Undertaking frequency spectrum assignment in accordance with the prescribed policies and guidelines;
- Maintaining a database pertaining to the radio frequency technical information;
- Articulating and presenting national positions on frequency governance issues at regional and international fora.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant should meet the following specifications: –
- A minimum period of twelve (12) years in relevant work experience and at least four (4) years in management role in a position in the Public Service or Private Sector;
- Relevant Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronic /Telecommunications Engineering, Commerce, Economics, relevant physical sciences or any other related field from a recognized institution;
- Relevant Masters degree in Electrical/Electronic/Telecommunications Engineering, Commerce, Economics, Business Management, or any other related field from a recognized institution;
- Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
- Member of a relevant professional body and in good standing, where applicable;
- Proficiency in computer applications;
- Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

Terms and Conditions of Service
- The Authority will offer competitive package in line with the Public Service Guidelines.
- The appointments shall be for a five (5) year Contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance.
