Duties And Responsibilities

• Administering youth development programs and activities in the department
• Coordinating, formulating and implementing policies, programs, strategies, plans, and activities that promote youth development
• Mainstreaming youth affairs at local, County, National and international levels
• Undertaking research and consultancy and disseminating information on youth development issues
• Coordinating the development of guidelines to strengthen linkages and dynamic partnership between stakeholders on absorption of youth into employment, internship, and volunteerism;
• Ensuring that an integrated youth information system is developed
• Coordinating staff performance management training and development.
• Monitoring financial and assets administration and management; ix) Ensuring compliance with Principles and Values of Good governance, Human rights, transparency accountability, ethics and integrity in the department
• Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this position, an officer MUST have: -

• Served for a minimum period of three (3) years and above in a comparable and relevant position in the wider public service.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences from a university recognized in Kenya;
• A Master’s Degree in Social Sciences from a university recognized in Kenya; and
• Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Program lasting not less than six (6) weeks or its equivalent from a recognized institution
• Certificate in computer applications
• Demonstrated managerial, administrative and professional competence on matters relating to management and development of youth in the country.
