    Field Technologist

    Job Description

    Reporting to the Research Administrator, the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and evaluation of public health activities in selected facilities supported by CARES project. In collaboration with MoH, the incumbent will oversee activities performed by hospital volunteers, constantly liaising with hospitals sub county and county teams to ensure adherence to IPC measures and coordinating distributions of IPC commodities and supplies to supported health facilities

    Qualifications Required:

    • Diploma in Public Health, Community Development, Social work, or Counselling psychology
    • Fluency in spoken and written English and Swahili.
    • Experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection in the context of research.
    • Experience using electronic devices e.g smartphone or tablet.
    • Experience working in collaboration with Ministry of Health (MoH) both at the County and Sub-County level and its reporting tools,
    • Training in human subject protection and Good Clinical Practices (GCP)
    • Ability to write brief reports and keep records.

    Job Description

    • Develop in-depth understanding of the study design and goals for successful implementation of the study.
    • Assess the effectiveness of recommended risk reduction actions and other alternatives.
    • Collect qualitative data and maintain up to date records of services rendered, assessing health needs of the community
    • Assess health delivery systems to enhance the health of specific communities’ systems.
    • Participate in direct or control prevention programs such wellness, infectious diseases, and environmental health.
    • Encourage partnerships and action to identify and resolve health related issues through prevention measures.
    • Complete study forms digitally (using tablets) accurately and completely and ensure they meet quality standards
    • Communicate with the Research Administrator on supply needs and field matters in a timely manner
    • Attend study meetings and report on progress of work
    • Work in a team with site clinic staff and represent CARES study interests at the study site
    • Be courteous, respectful, proactive, conscientious, punctual, honest, and hardworking
    • Disseminate public health findings from research to relevant stakeholders
    • Perform any other duty assigned by the immediate supervisor
