Support the East Africa Finance Team in paying all invoices on time; gain authorizations on payment requests and ensure that deadlines for remittance are met by following stipulated approval processes
Prepare Uganda & Rwanda financial statements in accordance with IFRS with the guidance of the Financial Accountant
Send proof of payment notices in a timely manner to vendors for all processed payments.
Reconcile cash and bank accounts weekly and submit for review by the Financial Accountant.
Maintain an organized, well-documented, and sequential filing system for all processed payments with all files labeled properly and visibly
Check bank statements regularly for any irregularities and notify your manager accordingly.
Prepare an up-to-date weekly cash flow performance report from previous periods and projection for the 12-weeks ahead with the guidance of Associate Director Finance Compliance & Risk.
Ensure that all payroll and other statutory deductions in Uganda, and Rwanda are filed and paid at least two (2) days before the due statutory dates the following month.
Maintain an active asset register for each country with guidance from the Financial Accountant
Provide administrative support to the East Africa Finance Team by monitoring the shared department email inbox and responding to or forwarding messages to the appropriate parties

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
CPA/ACCA finalist
Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or related field with 1-3 years of relevant internship or employment experience
A heart for our mission and a passion for alleviating poverty through private sector development
Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
Strong character and integrity
Ability to work independently in a small team environment
