    Finance Officer

    JOB PURPOSE

    To support the Finance and Strategy manager in financial reconciliation to ensure financial effectiveness of the bank operations.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

    1. Filing and submission of CBK financial reports as required
    2. Remittances of tax and other statutory deductions such as withholding tax, stamp duty, and Excise duty
    3. Raising and verification of journal vouchers
    4. Validate financial entries by auditing accrued expenses, supplier payment vouchers, fixed asset register entries and branches accounting entries
    5. Responsible for fixed asset depreciation and disposal
    6. To receive reconciliations from departments and branches for allocated ledger accounts and follow up for closure of the issues therein.
    7. Prepare status report on reconciling issues for review and update
    8. Support daily monitoring of bank balances and review bank reconciliation as per the bank’s policies and procedures
    9. Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
    10. Prepare branch and departments reconciliation statements
    11. Secure financial information by maintaining data base backups
    12. Bank loan management through validation, settlement of interest and principal repayment
    13. Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
    14. Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
    15. Any other duties assigned in relation to bank’s goals and objectives.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    1. University degree in accounting, commerce, economics, or a Business-related field (Must)
    2. Certified Chartered Accountant/ Certified Public Accountant (Must)
    3. Current member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) with a valid membership Certificate (Must)
    4. 3 years working experience in busy accounting/finance function in a financial institution (Must)
    5. Advanced Excel spreadsheet and data analytical skills
    6. High level of integrity and dependability
    7. Has a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
