    Head of Commercial

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop Fertilizer Sales Strategy: You will be responsible for crafting a comprehensive and effective sales strategy for the organization's biochar-based fertilizer products. This will involve conducting market research, analyzing competitors, devising pricing strategies, and identifying key target customers.
    • Lead Recruiting and Managing the Sales Team. You will take the lead in hiring and building a high-performing sales team. You will provide guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the team's success in achieving sales targets.
    • Forge Strategic Partnerships. You will lead efforts to establish strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including agribusinesses, distributors, NGOs, and governmental agencies, to expand market reach.
    • Develop Agribusiness Partner Acquisition Strategy: You will devise a strategy to identify and acquire agribusiness partners who can play a significant role in distributing the organization's fertilizer products to smallholder farmers and other potential customers.
    • Drive Geographical Expansion. You will take the lead in identifying and evaluating potential new markets for our fertilizer business, both within Africa and globally.
    • Launch New Product Lines. You will be responsible for successfully launching new products, identifying market opportunities, and ensuring their successful market penetration.

    Requirements;

    • 5+ Years in a senior commercial leadership role, where you have been responsible for driving revenue growth and leading commercial functions.
    • Degree in marketing, Business administration or any other related course.
    • Strong background in the fertilizer industry, with a deep understanding of the market dynamics, customer needs, and industry trends.
    • Familiarity with the Kenyan agricultural landscape, local regulations, and market conditions will be advantageous.
    • A demonstrated experience in scaling commercial operations, either within a start-up environment or by expanding existing commercial functions.
    • Consistent success in exceeding sales targets and achieving significant business growth.
