    Role Overview

    Equity Investment Bank is seeking a highly skilled and strategic professional to join the leadership team as the Head of Finance. The role will be a strategic executive responsible for leading the organization's financial management, driving financial performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing critical financial insights to support strategic decision-making across Equity Investment Bank.

    Job Responsibilities/ Accountabilities

    Financial Strategy and Leadership

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with the bank's overall business objectives.
    • Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management and board of directors.
    • Design and maintain robust financial frameworks that support organizational growth and sustainability.
    • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
    • Financial Performance Management
    • Oversee the bank's financial performance across multiple dimensions.
    • Develop and monitor key financial performance indicators.
    • Conduct sophisticated financial analysis to identify opportunities for optimization.
    • Provide detailed financial reporting and actionable insights to executive leadership.
    • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Lead comprehensive financial planning and budgeting processes.
    • Develop advanced financial models and predictive analytics.
    • Conduct in-depth financial scenario planning.
    • Support strategic decision-making through rigorous financial evaluation.

    Cost Management and Optimization

    • Monitor and control the bank’s operating expenses, ensuring cost efficiency across all business units.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process optimization while maintaining high service standards.
    • Ensure alignment of resource allocation with the bank’s strategic priorities.
    • Regulatory Compliance and Governance
    • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting standards set by the Central Bank of Kenya and other relevant bodies.
    • Oversee tax compliance and reporting, ensuring timely submission and adherence to statutory requirements.
    • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the bank’s financial integrity and mitigate risks.
    • Team Leadership and Talent Development
    • Build and lead a high-performance finance team
    • Recruit and develop top financial talent
    • Foster a culture of financial excellence, innovation, and continuous learning
    • Implement performance management and professional development strategies

    Qualifications
    Required Qualifications/Experience

    • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; a master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA) is highly desirable.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the financial services or investment banking sector.
    • Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, with experience in managing large budgets.
