Job objective

To lead and coordinate all sales and operational functions at the Head Post Office, ensuring efficient service delivery, accurate financial management, and compliance with safety standards, supervising staff, handling customer inquiries, and managing budgets to support the overall success and smooth functioning of the organization.

Job Specification

• Co-ordinate all postal services within the main Head post office and departmental offices under their jurisdiction including Selling Postal services.
• Ensure prompt accounting of the business transactions within the Head post office area.
• Be in charge of Head post office cash account and banking; and submission of business returns as required.
• Ensure efficient mail circulation within and outside the Head post office.
• Ensure efficient delivery of services, effective supervision of staff and general cleanliness of the business premises.
• Ensure safe custody of accountable documents.
• Co-ordination of customer orientation among staff and handling of enquiries and complaints from customers.
• Prepares annual budget by forecasting equipment purchase and repair, labor costs and projects required; monitors projects and operations in regard to progress and cost.
• Maintains safe working environment in accordance with OSHA and risk management.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Regional Postal Manager.

Person specifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, or equivalent with three (3) years’ experience as Head Post Master “B” or “C”
• Good performance standing for the past three (3) Years.
• Clean disciplinary records for the past three years.
• Proficiency in computer applications

Or

• Diploma Certificate in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, or equivalent with five (5) years’ experience as Head Post Master “B”, or seven (7) years’ experience as Head Post Master “C”, or nine (9) years’ experience as Senior Postal Superintendent or;
• Good performance standing for the past three (3) Years.
• Clean disciplinary records for the past three years.
• Proficiency in computer applications

   Or

• Substantive Head Postmaster “A” and;
• Good performance standing for the past three (3) Years.
• Clean disciplinary records for the past three years.
• Proficiency in computer applications
