In-House Chef at Sheffield Steel Systems

We are looking for a passionate, creative, and detail-oriented In-House Chef to join our team at our Nairobi office. This is not your average kitchen job. You’ll be working in a unique environment where culinary expertise meets cutting-edge equipment and kitchen technology. You'll collaborate across teams, support product demos, and help shape how modern kitchens are experienced across Africa.

What You'll Do

• Prepare high-quality, diverse meals for internal functions, client tastings, and training demos.
• Design and document innovative, seasonal, and client-aligned menus.
• Lead kitchen equipment demos with potential clients, providing real-time cooking demonstrations.
• Collaborate with the sales and project teams to test and showcase new equipment.
• Maintain strict hygiene standards in line with food safety and ISO regulations.
• Train kitchen staff and client teams on proper equipment use and maintenance.

What You Bring

• Proven experience as a chef in hotels, institutions, catering firms, or commercial kitchens.
• Excellent skills in food prep, presentation, and flavor combination.
• Culinary diploma, certificate, or equivalent professional qualification.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety practices and compliance
• Great communication and interpersonal skills — you’ll be a key face of the kitchen.
• Passion for innovation in kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
• Experience with commercial kitchen equipment is a plus.
