Reporting to the Laboratory Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Laboratory Analyst to join our Quality Assurance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting routine and non-routine tests on biological, chemical, and environmental samples, including raw materials, finished goods, and industrial waste. 

This role requires strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), international best practices, and ISO/IEC 17025 standards to ensure the highest quality of laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform tests and analyses using specialized technical equipment and instruments.
• Receive, label, and analyze samples (e.g., macadamia nuts, water, industrial waste).
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and functionality.
• Record and interpret data accurately in both paper and electronic formats.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
• Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining records.
• Oversee laboratory infrastructure, including procurement, servicing, and maintenance.
• Develop and standardize laboratory protocols for processes and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Analyze competitor samples for physical, chemical, microbiological, and sensory attributes.
• Monitor and maintain Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
• Collaborate with the QA team to address quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related field.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 and other relevant regulatory standards.
• Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is a plus.
