    Laboratory Technicians Grade, KIP 9

    VACANCY No. KIP/LT 9/2025

    For appointment to this grade, an Officer MUST have:

    • Diploma in any of the following fields: Medical Laboratory Sciences, Laboratory sciences, Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
    • Registration Certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) where applicable;
    • Valid practicing license from Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board where applicable;
    • Proficiency in computer applications;
    • Demonstrated work performance and results;
    • and fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Collecting, preparing and store research samples and specimen;
    • Assisting in maintaining laboratory records and equipment;
    • Assisting in performing analytical and diagnostic work;
    • Ensuring clean and safe working environment;
    • Assisting in designing and developing the necessary laboratory infrastructure needed for biobanking
    • Performing biobanking activities
    • Assisting in preparing reagents and materials;
    • Handling and disposing laboratory waste;
    • Collecting, preparing and storing research samples and specimen;
    • and assisting in field work

    Method of Application

Please note that successful candidates will be required to provide clearances from Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission, Kenya Revenue Authority, Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of good Conduct), Credit Reference Bureau and Higher Education Loans Board.

    The candidate will be required to produce originals of their Birth Certificate, National Identity Cards, Academic and Professional Certificates and Transcripts during the Interview.
