Laboratory Technologist Chemistry at United States International University - USIU Africa

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Chair Pure and Biomedical Sciences department, School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, the successful candidate will be expected to support learning activities in chemistry laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing and conducting lab tests according to standard procedures
• Supervising and assisting students during laboratory and research sessions
• Ensuring student adherence to safety protocols while performing laboratory practicals
• Management of laboratory supplies
• Using, cleaning and maintaining various types of equipment.
• Segregate and dispose laboratory waste appropriately;

Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in analytical chemistry/ chemistry /industrial chemistry/ from an accredited university.
• Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in a similar position in a research or higher learning Institution.
• Ability to operate GC and HPLC equipment’s
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Experience in an accredited laboratory will be an added advantage
• Excellent skills and competency in biochemical, clinical biochemistry and microbiology techniques.
• Registration by relevant regulatory body (if applicable);
