Lead Software Developer- Nairobi at Summit Recruitment and Search

The role involves providing technical leadership, managing a development team, overseeing system architecture, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive innovation and collaboration across teams.

Key Responsibilities.

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of software developers, fostering a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement
• Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and documentation
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define technical requirements, architecture, and delivery timelines
• Conduct regular code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality control
• Manage technical risks, resolve complex challenges, and ensure delivery of project milestones
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend enhancements that improve performance, scalability, and security
• Ensure proper implementation of CI/CD, DevOps practices, and version control processes

Key Qualifications.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 8+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead developer role
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments and using project management tools
• Strong background in system architecture, design patterns, and scalable system development
• Proficiency in modern frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js)
• Strong backend development experience with languages such as Node.js, Python, Ruby, or Java
• Expertise in microservices architecture and API development
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, and version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies
